Rooted in St. Mary’s County, August is a young, Black, resource mobilizer, blue crab lover, and founder of Mosaic. He began organizing during his first few years in undergrad around trans student housing, sports, programming, retention and success. After a few years of organizing around HIV policy, prevention, and destigmatization, he shifted entirely to the development of trans-led organizations. August committed to a culture of storytelling, fundraising, and exploring solidarity economies to mobilize resources to Black folks. He graduated from Towson University in 2020.
August founded Mosaic with the intent to mobilize resources to the boys (Black trans men and masculine folks), and establish a land trust to distribute resources, crops, and alternatives to safety in Maryland.
Isaiah Lawrence is a trans health navigator, community health worker, and an outreach expert, who is passionate about uplifting the intersections of Black and trans lived experience. He works directly with trans masculine youth from Maryland, providing them (and their parents) with resources and connections to community and gender affirming care. He facilitates several trans peer support groups, for Marylanders, youth, and Black trans-masculine folks. Additionally, he has mentored Black trans-masculine folks across the US.
Isaiah is a PG County native, but currently resides in Baltimore city. He graduated from Towson University in 2016.
